ACHIEVEMENTS
In 1991 Ms. Marcia Colquhoun participated in an Executive Envoy to Côte d’Ivoire where she
helped to reinitiate AIESEC in that country.
She is an active alumnus currently based in the Ottawa, Canada area and has been involved in
AIESEC since her departure from the organization in 1991. She participates regularly in activities
geared towards alumni and actively seeks out involvement opportunities at the LCs in her area. She
is also helping her former LC (AIESEC Western) expand and develop their alumni network.
Ms. Colquhoun sat on AIESEC
Canada’s Board of Directors (BoD) for 5 years (1998-2002) as both an alumni and partner (Canadian
International Development Agency) representative. During her time on the board she was a member of
both the program and LC development subcommittees where AIESEC Canada benefited directly from her
expertise in project/conference management and her commitment to developing the local chapter
membership in Canada.
Marcia played an integral role
in the most recent renewal of AIESEC Canada’s partnership with the Canadian International
Development Agency (CIDA). She also helped the CC team of IC secure CIDA funding for IC 2002
delegates.
Marcia is currently working for
CIDA in Mozambique.
“Marcia is one of those very generous peers who is always approachable and offers
unconditional help and encouragement to those around her. She stands out for the way she treats
everyone with dignity and respect.
Most important to her Board service is the fact that she is a "take-charge" sort of talent
with lots of management experience who will wade into any sort of challenge and generate real
momentum and positive outcomes.
I am among her Raving Fans!”

Marcia Colquhoun:
“I now work in development and in Africa. Since my traineeship and Executive Envoy (both in
Africa), I returned to school to get a Masters in Development Studies. I subsequently worked with
ACTIONAID in Kenya (where I was in touch with the NC and did some training – that was fun!) and am
now working on the Mozambique Program at the CIDA. I am planning to accept a three-year posting in
Mozambique starting in August 2003. I think that I would probably have ended up in development
anyway, but I am not sure that I would have ended up in Africa, without my traineeship experience.
Africa is now in my blood – both literally and metaphorically!”
